Haus Segen -- In researching Fraktur we learn that Haus Segen or House Blessings, either pre-printed or hand constructed (or a mixture of both) were used frequently in the homes of the Pennsylvania Germans. Once the house blessing is colored, the address of the home is written on the back along with all the name's of the residents. Then, the verse on the front is repeated three times along with a prayer to Spirit that comes from the heart. The Haus Segen can be passed through sacred smoke, and then placed in a picture frame along with a bit of dried cinquefoil. Hang your Haus Segen where there is the most activity in the home.
